Opposition moves supply day motion attacking Liberal sovereign wealth fund

The House spent most of the day on a Conservative supply day motion moved by Pierre Poilievre that condemns the government's plan for a Canada Strong fund, arguing it would add to deficits and favour politically connected recipients. The motion remained before the House at adjournment.

Question period focused on the same fiscal issues, with Conservative MPs Melissa Lantsman and Andrew Scheer pressing the government on new spending, rising debt charges and affordability. Liberal ministers Patty Hajdu and John Zerucelli defended investments in training and claimed Canada holds the strongest fiscal position in the G7.
