      In their own words

8,922 Hansard interventions on file. These are the words said in the House, not a summary. Private conversations are not collected and are not invented.

Madam Speaker, I have been here long enough, coming up to 11 years now, to remember the Liberals' talking about the Conservative proposal of removing the excise tax on fuel. They accused Conservatives of spreading disinformation and said that it in fact would have a limited effec…Government Orders — Canadian Fuel Affordability Act · 2026-09-22

      Where they stand

Policy positions are scored only from this member's stored House words and, when it is on file, their own public website. Wikipedia and other encyclopedias may supply details such as a birth date, education or work history, and each of those details is labelled with its source, but they are never used to score a position. Members whose only sources are encyclopedias have no scored positions.

A stored score on 8 of 14 topics. Each row names the end of that topic’s axis the stored words reached, and the sentence the score rests on.

      Climate

      Slower phase-down, production first

The other end of this axis: Faster fossil phase-down

Repeatedly calls carbon tax a cover-up and the wrong method, favoring production and criticizing its costs.

However, I can say unequivocally that there are many people, a majority in my riding, who do not believe that a carbon tax is the right method to achieve our goals. The other thing constituents would like to see is Canada taking a role in terms of global leadership on the issue of climate change.

      Energy

      Expand production and export

The other end of this axis: Restrict new oil and gas

repeated attacks on Ontario green energy policies and federal carbon tax as harming consumers and businesses

The failed energy policies of Kathleen Wynne and the Ontario Liberals continue to overwhelm consumers and seniors, and devastate business in my home province. The 2015 Ontario Auditor General's report is a laundry list of mismanagement.

      Federalism

      Provinces lead

The other end of this axis: Ottawa leads

States provincial jurisdiction must be respected and work with premiers rather than Ottawa dividing regions.

However, provincial jurisdiction must be respected. Our leader respects provincial jurisdiction and will work with the premiers of every province in order to ensure that we have a confederation that is functioning and united, not divided.

      Fiscal policy

      Lower taxes and tighter spending

The other end of this axis: Higher taxes and public spending

repeatedly condemns deficits, higher taxes, and supports low business taxes and balanced budgets

The Liberal government's Speech from the Throne sets Canada on a path to higher deficits, higher debt, and higher taxes. While the new government's list was long when it comes to spending on grand schemes, it was short on detail and how these commitments would roll out.

      Housing

      Market supply and deregulation

The other end of this axis: Public supply and demand controls

Highlights high housing costs and calls for expediting zoning and development to build houses.

If we talk to the Canadian Real Estate Association or the Ontario Real Estate Association, as I have, they talk about the cumbersome process with respect to zoning and development applications. That needs to be done by municipalities to ensure that the process is expedited so we are building houses. Young people across the country feel that they have been let down in many ways or lied to in terms of hope and opportunity.

      Immigration

      Lower intake

The other end of this axis: Higher permanent intake

attacks costs and fraud in refugee program while noting value of immigration overall

Speaker, yesterday the immigration minister would not say how much the Syrian refugee program will cost Canadians. He said it will come under budget, but there is no budget.

      Labour

      More flexibility for employers

The other end of this axis: Stronger unions and standards

former union president backs accountability measures over stronger union protections

Madam Speaker, I am personally insulted by some of the inclinations shown here that this is an attack on transparency and accountability. I spent thirty and a half years as a union member.

      Public safety

      Enforcement and sentencing

The other end of this axis: Prevention and restraint

supports specific penalties and aggravating factors for crimes involving firefighting equipment

The bill would also create an aggravating circumstance for sentencing for mischief involving firefighting equipment. Finally, the bill would establish sentencing objectives in relation to the theft of firefighting equipment.
