Where they stand
Policy positions are scored only from this member's stored House words and, when it is on file, their own public website. Wikipedia and other encyclopedias may supply details such as a birth date, education or work history, and each of those details is labelled with its source, but they are never used to score a position. Members whose only sources are encyclopedias have no scored positions.
A stored score on 7 of 14 topics. Each row names the end of that topic’s axis the stored words reached, and the sentence the score rests on.
Climate
Faster fossil phase-down
The other end of this axis: Slower phase-down, production first
repeats support for government climate plan and attacks denial of climate change
Conservatives keep going back to the same old attacks, demonizing diversity and denying climate change, but we have a plan. We are focused on what Canadians actually care about: supporting families and building Canada in a changing world.Source of that line
Defence
Higher spending and more capability
The other end of this axis: Restrain spending and deployments
repeats praise for Canadian Armed Forces deployments and swift federal action
Canadian Armed Forces members were deployed immediately. They began assisting with evacuations the very next morning. I have heard the concerns raised by the hon.Source of that line
Energy
Expand production and export
The other end of this axis: Restrict new oil and gas
repeats support for energy and economic growth priorities in Alberta
Speaker, what I hear when I travel through Alberta is how supportive people are of the government's advancing priorities for Albertans, the things that matter most to them: affordability, energy and economic growth.Source of that line
Fiscal policy
Lower taxes and tighter spending
The other end of this axis: Higher taxes and public spending
supports tax cuts for millions and the government's affordability plan
Speaker, we have cut taxes for 22 million Canadians. We are building affordable homes. We are making it easier for young people to buy homes. We are creating thousands of jobs by investing in our economy. The easiest way for Conservatives to make life more affordable for Canadians is to support our plan in budget 2025.Source of that line
Health
Expand public coverage
The other end of this axis: More private delivery
repeats support for dental care and school food programs
School food programs, on the other hand, lower food costs for many families, but the Conservatives voted against them, just like they voted against child care, dental care and affordable housing. Day after day, we hear the Conservatives talk about making life more affordable for Canadians.Source of that line
Housing
Public supply and demand controls
The other end of this axis: Market supply and deregulation
repeats calls for public investment in affordable housing
In the last six months in my home riding of Edmonton Centre, I have announced over $400 million in infrastructure investments and affordable housing. We are not asking young people to make sacrifices or Canadians to make sacrifices; we are asking the Conservatives to support our generational budget so that we can keep building homes and make life affordable for Canadians.Source of that line
Labour
More flexibility for employers
The other end of this axis: Stronger unions and standards
highlights job growth and alignment with business community views on the economy
Speaker, Conservatives say they speak for Alberta, but they are offside with Alberta's business community. Business Council of Alberta president Adam Legge said that our spring economic update will support skilled labour, advance the Major Projects Office, strengthen defence procurement and improve our financial position.Source of that line
